Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS)

The TEKS are a set of research-based, categorized standards used by the state of Texas to determine what must be taught (for core subjects) by K-12 educators. Each specific description details what students should know by the time they transition to the next grade. As a former Texas educator and curriculum writer for high school English, I have received extensive training on how these concepts should be adjusted at each level. In this document, you will ONLY find the standards which MATCH with the stories, themes, and writing/literary structure of Levi&Toonk.

Texas Families: Review this document to discover how Levi&Toonk helps your student to meet (or surpass) the markers set by the state. For more information, visit the official website for the Texas Education Agency.

Texas Educators: Use this document to match the appropriate TEKS to your lesson plans and objectives. Your inclusion of our books will prove that self-published works of entertainment can also be acceptable sources for achieving a plethora of educational goals.
